School of Social Work Organises skill development Programme in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Title: " Advanced Courses in Counselling and Psychotherapy by Department of Social Work "

The programme is designed for individuals who are in helping or person centered roles.  This carters to the members of the academic profession, voluntary organizations, support services, personnel engagements, youth workers and who are engaged in providing guidance and advice to various age groups of people. This course would enable the participants to gain better understanding on the process of helping profession and make their people engaging roles more professional and effective. This would be a foundation for the participants who want to pursue a professional career in counseling and therapeutic support. 

Who can join?

Any graduate can apply for these certificate courses; however, preference will be given to professionals like, teachers, managers, employers, social workers, nurses, psychologists, development practitioners, NGO representatives.

  1. Fundamentals of counseling
  2. Foundation on mental health issues and counseling needs  
  3. Personality theories and implications in counseling
  4. Counseling process, skills and approaches
  5. Counseling needs of different groups (children, adolescent, youth, elderly and the employees)
  6. Counseling techniques and assessment – skill training

Advanced course in counseling and psychotherapy

Contents

  1. General Introduction
  2. Introduction to Essentials of CBT
  3. Therapeutic Conceptualization - Cognitive conceptualization
  4. Responding to Dysfunctional Cognitions
  5. Collaboratively designing effective action plans
  6. CBT techniques and strategies
  7. CBT for Specific Conditions – Depression, Anxiety, Childhood Disorders etc
  8. CBT for Depression
  9. Second Order CBT
  10. Mindfulness based CBT

The Department of Computer Science, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kerala invites Academicians, Researchers, Ph.D/Doctoral Scholars, Professionals and  Students with interest in Data Science for the Six days online Faculty Development Programme on "Data Science using Python, R and Orange"  from 10th to 15th August 2020.

The FDP will be online using Google meet platform, the timings are from 6:30 PM to 08:00 PM. This programme is aimed at providing a hand-on training and rich technical knowledge on Data Science.

The resource persons for this FDP are: Mr. Bastin Robins. J, Dr. Dhaval Maheta and Dr. Hitesh Parmar

Two Day Faculty Development Program on "MS Excel Essentials for Academicians"

The Department of Commerce and Professional Studies in association with IQAC, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) is organising a Two Day Faculty Development Program on "MS Excel Essentials for Academicians" on 20 & 21 November, 2020 through Zoom Platform. The objective of this FDP is to provide hands-on experience in various MS Excel functions through different case studies which will help simplify your routine personal and professional tasks.
