Dr.Giji George holds an MSW from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery .Started her Social Work Career as Counsellor (1996-2004) at Adoption Co-ordinating Agency, RCSS. Social Work Educator from 2004 onwards, completed more than two decades.Has a P.G. Diploma in HRM from IGNOU. Her doctoral work was with Institutionalized Unwed Mothers in Kerala.She has successfully completed  research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC),and other national and international agencies. Dr.Giji was Project Director, Rajagiri - COMmunity Based Action for Drug PrevenTion (R-COMBAT) a project funded by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. She was an Official Delegate  to  Vives  University Belgium and Lille University ,France in connection with the International Exchange Programme of RCSS .

Worked as Convenor of the Gender Equity Cell and Women Cell .Dr. Giji  is consultant to various organizations such as Salem Pipeline Private Ltd.Youth Red Cross (District Co-ordinator) ,Programme Officer (NSS ), Gender Justice Forum (Chairperson) etc. Awarded as Best YRC Programme Officer Ernakulam District and  Best YRC Unit in the State and District (2014-15). She is serving as Programme Officer for  NSS Unit of the College  from 2020 onwards and has received the Best NSS Programme Officer  Award and Best NSS Unit Award from M.G.University consecutively for two years-2023-24 &2024-25).She is also  the Co-ordinator of  the Centre for Excellence in Whole Person Education.Her interest areas are Adolescent Sexuality, Gender Justice, Health and Wellbeing, Environment and Waste Management.
