The Department of Social Work at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) has been ranked as the second-best Social Work program in India in the Outlook-ICARE Professional Colleges Survey 2024.
The Rajagiri Journal of Social Development has received an ICSSR Adohc Annual Grant-in-Aid for the journal publication for the year 2024-2025.

2024- Fr. (Dr.) Saju M D, Dr. Rajeev SP, and Dr. Anish KR were appointed as the Expert Committee member, at MG University.
2024- Dr. Kiran Thampi appointed as the Honorary Fellow at the School of Social and Political Science, The University of Edinburgh.
2024- Fr. (Dr.) Saju M D was appointed as the Honorary (Principal Fellow) within Social Work at the University of Melbourne
2023- NAPCAIM 2nd International conference hosted by the Department of Social Work on Palliative Care
2022- Fr. (Dr.) Saju M D was appointed as the Honorary (Principal Fellow) within Social Work at the University of Melbourne.
2022- The Department received a certificate of Appreciation from Cochin Corporation for its contribution to the efforts to implement the Tele Counselling Programme as part of the Kochi Municipal Corporation COVID care activities

2020 &- 2024 - India Today ranked the Department of Social Work as the 2nd Best Social Work College in India.
2019-20 to 2020-21: Fr.Dr. Saju M D won the special jury award -second position (2019-20 to 2020-21) under the category, Innovations in Covid Pandemic Management from the Government of Kerala.

2019: The Department hosted 10th International Summer University on the theme “Social Care and Well-being of vulnerable populations” along with the consortium partners of Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Western Switzerland), Western Sydney University (Australia) Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), University of British Columbia (Canada), University of California (USA), Shadong University (China), and University of Ouaga (Burkina Faso).
2018: The department was granted the prestigious UGC-DAAD Project-based Personnel Exchange Programme.
2018: The Department hosted Annual Symposium of Building Networks and Frameworks for Global Social Work titled “Valuing Diversity in Global Social Work: Practice with People on the Move” along with the consortium partners of University of Eastern Finland, College of Social Work, University of Utah and Faculty of Social Work, Hochschule Landshut - University of Applied Science.
2017 – The department was granted prestigious UGC-UKIERI Joint Research Programme.
2014: The department has undertaken 2 studies of Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Department of Social Justice, Govt. of Kerala.
