Renitta holds an MPhil in Social Work from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) Kalamassery affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. She completed her post-graduation in Social Work with a specialization in Family and Child Welfare from Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous) Idukki. She is also a doctoral scholar under Mahatma Gandhi University. HerHer doctoral research is among the women offenders in Kerala. She has been working with various governmental and non-governmental institutions for the past years. She has worked with the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) Thiruvananthapuram as a Research Associate in the development of Citizen Score Card in select Welfare Institutions under the Social Justice Department and Women and Child Development Department, Government of Kerala. Ms. Renitta Manuel has been working in association with the Department of Women and Child Development as a consultant in Kanal Gender Sensitisation Campaign. She is also a member of the Kerala State Probation Support Team and has been associated with various District Probation Offices in the state. In addition, she has been the Founding Convener of the probation literacy wing of the NGO Law and Justice Research Foundation, LJRF Centre for Probation Reforms and has organised various programmes for law and social work students on Probation literacy. Her areas of interest are Social Work in Correctional setting, Probation, Working with Family and Elderly, Gender sensitisation, Child safety and protection etc. She is also a life member of various professional bodies.
