Dr. Kiran Thampi is an Assistant Professor and Head of Social Work in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Cochin, Kerala, India. He is also holding the position of Assistant Director of Office of International Relations from the year 2012 to date. Has done his PhD and Government-funded research in Organizational practices of Non-Government Organisations. He was the project lead, partnering with Israel and Australia, in the International project funded by IASSW in 2022. He was appointed as an adjunct faculty in the School of Health and Human Services, Nazareth College, USA for the summer A Semester in 2015. Research and publication interests include integrated health models, participatory project planning & management, mental health of elderly and youth, caregiver support in palliative care and International Social Work. He serves as editorial review board member of International Journal of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine and peer reviewer for International journals including ISW, Social Work Education, F1000, Community Mental Health & Journal of Gerontological Social Work.  He is a consultant for Non-Government Organisations and has conducted impact assessment studies for corporate and Government Departments. He has done his teacher training in Yoga and conducts training sessions for various organisations. He is also an approved research guide in MG University for doctoral research. He was awarded for his ‘Research in Social Work Education’ launched by the European Association of Schools of Social Work (EASSW) in 2023.
