Dr. Anish KR is an Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Social Work at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. He also serves as Assistant Controller of Examinations and Head of the Strategic Pillar Advisory Council ( Hill Campus). He is a Registered Mental Health Professional under the Mental Health Care Act 2017 and a Research Guide at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. 

In his role as District Coordinator for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Ernakulam District and Project Director for the Rajagiri Community Based Action for Drug Prevention (RCOMBAT) Project, Dr. Anish has spearheaded significant community initiatives aimed at combating substance abuse and behavioural addiction.

Dr Anish has held a number of key academic and professional  positions, including Chairman of the Board of Studies at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kottayam, Kannur University, and Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous). He is also a member of the Board of Studies at Sree Shankaracharya University, Kannur University, MGU, and eight autonomous colleges in Kerala.

Dr. Anish has been recognised with major research grants and fellowships from prestigious organizations such as the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI), the German Academic Exchange Programme (DAAD), the Australia India Council, the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and the World Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation etc. His research endeavors have been supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, NIRDPR etc..

He provides consultancy services to numerous organizations, including NACO, NISD, NIRDPR, NTPC, Habitat India, and Muthoot Finance. Additionally, Dr. Anish is a founding member of the Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS) and the KAPS Skills Academy, and he serves on the editorial boards of several esteemed journals such as Children and Youth Services Review (CYSR), Elsevier, Indian Journal of Health Social Work (AIAMSWP), The Indian Journal of Social Work Education & Practice (DU), Indian Journal of Psychiatric Social Work
