Dr. Francis holds a doctorate in Computer Applications from the Faculty of Technology, Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has more than 35 years of experience in Library and Teaching profession in various institutions like Kerala Agricultural University Central Library, Vellanikkara; College of Horticulture/Agriculture; and College of Forestry, Vellanikkara; College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookot, Wayanad; Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory, DRDO, Govt. of India, Kakkanad, Kochi; Jawaharlal Nehru College, Kavarati, Lakshadweep; Govt. Medical College, Thrissur; and Unique College, Kunnamkulam. Published many research papers in Journals and Proceedings of repute. He acts as resource person for many government departments, universities and colleges.

Projects/Consultancy/Research:

  • Lead the projects of reorganizing, computerising and digitizing several libraries in Kerala.  Prepared project proposals for computerising the library and information services and supervised the projects of various Colleges/institutions such as Govt. Training College, Govt. Law College, St. Thomas College, St Mary’s College, St. Aloysius College, Little Flower College, Guruvayur, Kerala Sahitya Academy and Public Library (all are in Thrissur Dist), Mercy College, Palakkad Dist., Markaz Training College, Malappuram Dist., etc.
  • Closely associated with establishing and organizing the University Central Library of KAU.  This is the Central Hub of libraries of all Constituent Colleges, Research Stations and other offices of the University.  Worked as the 2nd In-Charge of the University Central Library and Head of the Information Technology Division for 08 years and as the Head of the College Libraries for about 10 years.
