One Day National Workshop on Bibliometrics: An Essential Tool for Research, 16 December 2023
The Department of Library and Information Science of RCSS had organized a One Day National Workshop on “Bibliometrics: An Essential Tool for Research” on 16th December 2023 in Central Computing Lab of Kalamassery Campus as part of the initiation of the department initiative of Capacity Building Programme Training Series. Dr. B. Elango, Assistant Professor of DLIS was the resource person of the workshop. 50 participants including LIS professionals, students, research scholars, faculties of various institutions took part in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Binoy Joseph (Associate Director RCSS) and Asst. Prof. Neethu Mohanan, Head of DLIS welcomed the function.
National Seminar on “Role of libraries on Academic Research and Publishing” on 10th March 2023 conducted by the Department of Library and Information Science in collaboration with Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Academic Library Association and Kerala College Librarians Association (KCLA).
National Workshop on Plagiarism and Reference Management, 26 November 2022
The Department of Library and Information Science of RCSS had conducted a national Workshop jointly with the Fr. Moses Library of the Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) on 26th November 2022. Dr. Margam Madhusudan, Professor of DLIS at University of Delhi was the chief resource person. Rev. Dr. Jose Kuriedath CMI, Director of Rajagiri group of institutions inaugurated the workshop.
ICSSR Sponsored National Conference on Documentation Science & Information Management, May 26-28, 2022
The Department of Library and Information Science, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) is organizing a three-day National Conference on “Documentation Science and Information Management” sponsored by ICSSR on May 26-28, 2022. The major objective of this conference is to bring together academicians, practicing librarians, research scholars, students and IT professionals from a verity of disciplines including library and information science, knowledge management, documentation and information management.

National Workshop on Library Automation Software-KOHA, 26-27 November 2021
The Department of Library and Information Science and Fr. Moses Library, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery in collaboration with the Academic Library Association organized a National workshop on Library Automation Software, KOHA on 26th and 27th November 2021. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Devika Pillai, Director of KUFOS and the function was presided by Rev. Dr. Jose Kuriedath CMI, Director of Rajagiri group of institutions. Hundreds of library professionals from inside and outside Kerala (30) participated in the workshop. The distribution of the prizes of the National Library Week’s Inter-Departmental Quiz competition was also held in the inaugural session.
Department of Library and Information Science and Fr. Mosses Library jointly organized Two Day National Workshop on “Financial Management in Academic Libraries” on 13th and 14th December 2019. Principal Dr. Binoy Joseph presided over the meeting. Mr. Anand Parthasarathy (Editor, Indiatechonline) delivered the Keynote address. The workshop deals with Six Technical Sessions and are handled by Mr. V S Muhammad Ibrahim (Director, Backward Classes Development Department), Dr. Mini Ulanat (System Manager, CUSAT), Dr. Liny Varghese (Information Scientist, CUSAT), Mr. Sanjo Jose (Librarian, St. Thomas College Thrissur), Adv. Prashant Sugathan. All the sessions are very informative and it deals with E – tendering, Information security, Higher education policies and regulation for college libraries etc. More than 20 persons participated in this sessions including Librarians, Administrative staffs and Faculty members.
