The students from the department of Computer Science participated in the Urjasamrakshana rally from Primary HealthCenter, Kumarapuram, to Kunnathunaadu Grama Panchayath on 16/12/2022 by 3.30 PM. The members from the various governing bodies attended the function. The public was cooperative and took active participation in the rally. Some of them enquired about the purpose of this rally and the necessity of the Urrjakiran project, so students interacted with the public after the rally and created awareness among the people. They also distributed the IEC materials to the nearby shops and the public. The public even shared their attitude toward conserving energy for a better tomorrow
Jal-Jeevan Mission Jala Sandhesa Rally And Kala Jaadha- Katoor Grama Panchayath

The department of CS, in association with outREACH, organized four extension activities in different panchayats in Ernakulam and Thrissur districts in Kerala. 90 students and four 4 faculty members participated. The theme in Thrissur was Energy Conservation and in Ernakulam, it was part of the Jal-Jeevan mission proposed by the government of Kerala.
The second-year students from the Department of Computer Science, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) were part of the Pokkali farming at Nayarambalam. It was a one-day program organized to prepare the field for Pokkali farming. The event showcased the rich and vibrant farming culture, cuisines, lifestyles, and landscapes of the people and the locality. As part of the Rajagiri Outreach and AICTE-SPICES, the students were able to be a part of this amazing farming, and we came to know about the inspiring Organisation, Grassroute, and their goodwill towards the farmers

Introduction: The Mpower workshop, organized by VERTICAL EYE, commenced its first day with a focus on personal enhancement and development. The attendees arrived dressed formally, setting a professional tone for the day's activities. The session commenced with a silent prayer, followed by introductory remarks by Mr. Krishnakumar and Ms. Mridula.
Activities: The day was packed with engaging management activities designed to enhance concentration, teamwork, and initiative among the students. The primary activity involved following instructions to clap hands, which tested participants' ability to focus and follow directions accurately. While many students performed well, some faced challenges due to assumptions, highlighting the importance of clarity and attentiveness.

A small debate session allowed students to analyze and understand various topics, further honing their critical thinking abilities.
On 16/3/2024, a team of 25 students from Department of computer science, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) visited TinkerHub located at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in Kalamassery. The aim was to look into the most up-to-date ground-breaking technology as well as processes used in the field of digital fabrication and design. TinkerHub is a state-of-the-art facility at CUSAT where innovation, creativity and hands-on learning experiences are encouraged in different technological areas. It acts as a home for students, researchers and enthusiasts who want to be updated on new concepts of technology, collaborate on projects or gain practical aptitudes.

As part of the Whole Person Education (WPE) initiative, our students and faculty recently organized a meaningful visit to the Kerala Rehabilitation Institute for the Physically Affected (Kripa). This visit aimed to provide support, raise awareness, and foster empathy among students by engaging with individuals overcoming physical challenges.
During the visit, students interacted with Kripa's residents, listening to their stories, sharing in activities, and gaining insights into their daily lives and resilience. The experience helped students reflect on the importance of inclusion, compassion, and community service. Through this impactful encounter, the WPE program continues to emphasize holistic growth by promoting values that go beyond academic learning.
Database Administration Workshop (MCA)

The workshop commenced with an introduction by Harishankar (MCA 1), followed by a team introduction by Ms. Aashly Alex. Students were introduced to SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Configuration Manager, focusing on database types, log/data files, and DDL/DML commands. The afternoon session covered High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and security measures. Day 2 focused on indexing, cluster types, reducing fragmentation, error logs, and task automation. The session also covered functions, stored procedures, and deadlocks, concluding with a brief on Windows PowerShell. A Q&A session provided insights into IT careers and DBA expectations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by George K Saji, prize distribution, and a group photo.

The Department of Computer Science conducted a two-day workshop on Database Administration for MSc Computer Science (Data Analytics) students. Esteemed speakers from Inspired Software Development—Mr. Manu Mohan, Ms. Aashly Alex, Mr. Abhishek Nair, and Mr. Joish George—shared their industry expertise.

Interactive Q&A sessions encouraged students to engage with the speakers, discussing real-world challenges. The workshop inspired many to explore career opportunities in database management, making it a valuable learning experience for all students.
Euphoria 2024

The Inaugural Ceremony of Euphoria 24 was held on August 30, 2024, at 9:30 AM at the Golden Aureole. The event, hosted by Punya Prasad, a first-year MCA student, welcomed distinguished guests including Rev. Dr. Shinto Joseph, Dr. Ann Baby, Dr. Bindiya M Varghese, Mr. Diljith K Benny, and student coordinators Leo Thomas and Lakshmi Jayaraj. The ceremony featured a welcome address by Lakshmi Jayaraj, the inauguration by Rev. Dr. Shinto Joseph, and a felicitation by Dr. Ann Baby. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Leo Thomas.
The Inaugural and Trophy Placement Ceremony took place on August 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the RSCC Auditorium. Hosted by Franseena Lopez and Ann Nishwal, the ceremony included a welcome address by Hardin Valiyakath and the introduction of 13 streamers by Ivin Varghese. The Trophy Placement was led by Dr. Bindiya M Varghese and Mr. Diljith K Benny, followed by the exciting Streamers Battle.
The Valedictory Event was held on July 30, 2024, at the RSCC Auditorium. Anchored by Teja and Akhil, the event included prize distributions for various competitions and was graced by the presence of Rev. Dr. Saju MD CMI, Dr. Bindiya M Varghese, and Mr. Diljith K Benny.
Countdown and Banner Launch for Euphoria 24

The countdown to Euphoria 24 officially began on August 19, 2024, at 4:00 PM with a lively evening event. Hosted by Haripriya (MCA 2nd Year) and Akhil (MCA 1st Year), the program kicked off with melodious performances from the RCSS musical band, setting a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Adding to the excitement, three food stalls were in operation: An Ice Cream stall, a Snacks stall, and a Mojito stall, offering refreshments throughout the evening. Fifteen minutes into the event, the Euphoria 24 banner was unveiled by Mr. Diljith K Benny, Faculty Coordinator of Euphoria 24. Joining him on stage for the banner launch were Dr. Ann Baby, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr. Bindiya M Varghese, Dean of the Department of Computer Science.
Following the banner launch, Dr. Ann Baby officially revealed the countdown to Euphoria 24, marking a significant moment of the event. The remainder of the evening featured various activities while the food stalls continued to serve attendees. The event concluded successfully at 6:30 PM.
Website and Logo Launch Event- Euphoria 2024

The Website and Logo Launch event, held on July 25, 2024, at the Golden Aureole, commenced at 12:30 PM. The event was elegantly anchored by Nivya Varghese and Gracen K Shaji. The program began with a prayer led by Raveena Ramesh and Sandra Viju, first-year MCA students.
Distinguished guests included Rev. Dr. Saju M D CMI, Principal of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences; Dr. Bindiya M Varghese, Dean of the Department of Computer Science; Dr. Ann Baby, Dean of Student Affairs; Mr. Dilijith K Benny, Faculty Coordinator of Euphoria; and student coordinators Leo Thomas and Merrin Mariya Jaison.The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Mr. Dilijith K Benny, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, which symbolized a key moment of the gathering. Rev. Dr. Saju M D CMI, Principal, addressed the audience with words of inspiration. Dr. Ann Baby shared her insights on the importance of Euphoria and extended her best wishes to the students. Dr. Bindiya M Varghese expressed excitement for the occasion and motivated the students with encouraging words. The highlight of the event was the launch of the official logo, unveiled by Rev. On 17th August 2024 (Saturday), a Resume Creation Workshop was conducted from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Chavara Hall. The event was organized by the Placement Cell to help participants gain valuable insights and guidance on crafting effective resumes.
The session was led by Mr. Scaria Thomas from the Placement Cell, who provided expert advice on various aspects of resume writing, including structure, content, and presentation. He also shared practical tips on how to tailor resumes for specific job roles and how to highlight key skills and experiences to stand out to potential employers. The workshop was interactive, with participants receiving personalized feedback on their resumes, making the session both informative and engaging.
The workshop successfully equipped attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to create professional and impactful resumes, crucial for their future career prospects.
"Like, Share, Respect – Etiquette for the Digital World"

On 9th July 2024, the Department of Computer Science at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS), in collaboration with Skill-Q, hosted a seminar titled "Like, Share, Respect – Etiquette for the Digital World". Held in the B2 Exam Hall, the event aimed at raising awareness about proper online behavior and communication. The seminar was led by Priya D'Souza, a seasoned mentor with over 20 years of experience in personal and professional development. With her expertise spanning communication skills, public speaking, etiquette, and English proficiency, she provided attendees with valuable insights into the importance of maintaining respect, integrity, and professionalism in the digital space. The session addressed the rising need for digital etiquette in the fast-paced, ever-evolving online world.
Key topics covered included appropriate use of social media, email, and other digital communication platforms, as well as strategies for maintaining a positive online presence. The event was well-received by students and faculty alike, and the interactive nature of the session encouraged engaging discussions on digital etiquette challenges faced today.

"Innovation/Prototype Validation – Converting Innovation into a Start-Up"

On August 16, 2024, the ED Club of the Department of Computer Science hosted a session titled "Innovation/Prototype Validation – Converting Innovation into a Start-Up" at Carmel Hall. The event focused on validating innovative ideas and transforming them into successful start-ups, attracting aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators. Mr. Nasif N M, Head of Programmes and Communications at Kerala Startup Mission, delivered an insightful keynote on prototype validation, market research, and strategic planning. The session was supported by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation (CEDI), along with key partners like the Kerala State Innovation and Development Centre and GHG Growth Lab.Participants gained valuable knowledge about the start-up ecosystem, with the event concluding in an interactive Q&A session, making it both engaging and impactful.
On February 25, 2023, the computer science department at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) hosted the mega alumni meet Thirinjunottam 2023. Dr. Bindiya M Varghese, Dean of the Department of Computer Science, opened the formal proceedings with a welcome address. The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Saju M D. CMI, the associate director of RCSS, and the event was deemed a success by the alumni present with their families. The current students entertained the alumni with lots of fun games and interactive sessions. There were 117 registered alumni, apart from family members, who attended the function. All the alumni shared their campus memories, and the official program ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Jaya Vijayan.
A musical eve was organized by the team EUPHORIA 2k22 of the department of CS as part of the national level FEST “EUPHORIA 2k22” curtain raiser whis is about to happen on 12th day of August, 2022. The students band performed about 1.30 hours, and it was partnered by CLUB FM 93.5. RJs Gaddafi and Ajay coloured the program with their performance too.
The department of computer science organized a campus tour program for the fresh batch of 2022-2024 through the various departments of RCSS and the various oraganizations running inside RCSS, Hill campus. It was held in the afternoon on 2nd July, 2022. The students visited various NGOs running in RCSS
