• Indian Psychiatric Society’s travel fellowship at NIMHANS, Bangalore in 2017. I was only one of two fellows selected from all of India.

• Trust level awards for clinical excellence, UK: Clinical excellence awards every year from 2007 to 2014 (9 awards received so far).

• On the advisory board of Aquarius’ (largest addictions charity in the Midlands) early intervention gambling pilot and played an active role in the running and evaluating of this program
• Co-wrote (with Henrietta Bowden - Jones) the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ information leaflet on problem gambling for the lay public.
• Co-edited (with Henrietta Bowden - Jones) UK’s first textbook on problem gambling, commissioned by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• On the advisory board of the Royal College of General Practitioners’ pilot project on training GPs in the identifying and helping problem gamblers
• Co-wrote (with Prof Jim Orford and the National Problem Gambling Clinic) UK’s first self-help book for families affected by a relative’s gambling problems.
• Published papers on gambling in various international journals such as British Medical Journal, Advances in Psychiatric Treatment, British Medical Journal – Case reports, Journal of Public Health, British Journal of General Practice, etc.
• Collaborated academically with Dr Clare Gerada (in educating GPs on gambling-related harm), Eleanor Roaf (in highlighting the public health harms of gambling), Henrietta Bowden-Jones (in numerous psychiatric journals, books, research, etc)
• Helped set up Solihull’s gambling interest group in anticipation of a super casino opening in Solihull, involving key figures in public health, local council and the gambling industry
• Co- developed the gambling screening and brief intervention tools (only one in the country)
• Have carried out commissioned research for RGF into mental health professionals’ awareness of problem gambling
• Was a clinical lead for RGF’s work stream exploring clinical governance in gambling treatment services across the country
• Have completed an international survey of psychiatrists’ awareness of problem gambling in India and China.
