6th RAJAGIRI MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
14-15 February, 2025
"Innovate and Adapt: Building Business Resilience in a Dynamic World”
Venue: Rajagiri Business School, Kakkanad
Organised by: Rajagiri Business School and Rajagiri College of Social Sciences
6th RAJAGIRI MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
In today’s rapidly evolving business environment, characterized by technological breakthroughs such as AI, automation, IoT, rise in remote and hybrid work model, consumer behavior disruptions by new digital platforms, such as social media, influencers, and AI-driven marketing tools, changing financial markets due to cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance (DeFi), and fintech innovation and unpredictable global disruptions exacerbated by global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical shifts, and environmental challenges, the ability to innovate and adapt is more crucial than ever. As organizations navigate the dynamic business environment, they must fundamentally rethink strategies to ensure long-term viability and sustainability. In this dynamic landscape, business resilience - the ability to swiftly recover from challenges and maintain operations in the face of uncertainty - has emerged as a core competency of successful organizations. However, the traditional notion of resilience is evolving. The integration of AI and advanced technologies is transforming how businesses anticipate risks, make decisions, and respond to disruptions. Coupled with the concept of evolutionary resilience, which emphasizes continuous adaptation and learning, businesses are now better positioned to thrive amid uncertainty.

Theme: Sustainable Development Goals in the post-pandemic world
As opposed to the traditionalist management view, which highlighted the difficulties in achieving the conflicting goals of “economic benefit” versus “environmental benefits”, the revisionist management view proposes that both can be achieved together, in fact the triple target of “people, profit and planet” are complimentary to each other in the long run. The need of the hour is to align these goal at individual, corporate, country and supranational level. A combination of well-planned environmental friendly policies by regulators and adoption of environmental friendly practices by corporates and individuals or households is the only hope to provide a habitable ecosystem for the next generations.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill with the travel restrictions and lockdowns imposed by governments worldwide to curb the spread of the deadly virus. The only positive impact of the pandemic is perhaps the drop (although severely insufficient) in pollution across the world with improved air and water quality, clean beaches and environmental noise reduction. As the world restart their economic engines to reach the pre-pandemic levels of productivity, we need to pause and design a greener route this time to ensure a stronger, resilient and sustainable post-pandemic world. As COP26 summit reaffirms the common commitment of the parties across the world to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, we Rajagiri School of Business, Rajagiri School of Social Sciences and Fiji National University (FNU), dedicate this conference to the theme of the greening the recovery from the pandemic through development of sustainable policies and adoption of sustainable practices.
