He was Professor of Sociology at Sacred Heart College, Thevara, from 1980 to 2000, and retired as the Principal of the college. He has a doctoral degree in Sociology, and did post-doctoral research in Sociology at Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, from 1990 to 1992. He was a visiting fellow at Fordham University, New York, in 1992. After retirement, he served as the Pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Toronto, for more than seven years. From 2008 to 2014 he was the General Councillor for Education and Communication Media in the CMI Congregation. From 2014, he served as the Prior of S. H. Monastery and the Manager of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) and other educational institutions of the congregation in Thevara, Kochi. He has presented papers at several national and international conferences and has published seven books and many scientific articles on Sociology of Religion.
He served as the Director of AMLED SChool, Dubai, an undertaking of the Sacred Heart CMI province Rajagiri, Kochi in collaboration with AMLED Facilities Management LLC Dubai, UAE. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Louvain, Belgium. He served as the Provincial of Sacred Heart Province, Kochi and as Director of Rajagiri Institutions from 2002-2005. He also served as the Principal of Rajagiri School, Kochi for six years. A renowned Mathematics teacher with over 16 years of experience, he has imprinted his name in the minds of his students.
A post graduate in Social Work (specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work) from Loyola College (Autonomous) Chennai and M. Phil in Social Work from University of Madras, his PhD is in the area of Child Development and is currently pursuing his post-doctoral program in York University, UK. He is a partner in International Centre for Mental Health Social Research (ICMHSR), York University, UK and was a visiting International Scholar to Western Washington, Columbus University, Western Michigan University, Nazareth University and University of Maryland, USA. He is an international faculty in the University of Applied Sciences, Western Switzerland and Vives University, Belgium and received the UK India Education and Research Initiative award (UKIERI) from British Council, UK, for a period of three years (2017 – 2020). He has been awarded Research Fellowships by Melbourne University, Australia for one year research (2017 – 2018)
Dr. Joseph I. Injodey is a well-known name in the field of social work and management education. He is presently the Executive Director of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and the Director of Rajagiri Business School. A pioneer in academic administration and development, he has more than three and a half decades of teaching and research experience and served as Principal of RCSS from 2002 to 2015 before taking up his present portfolios.
A Post Graduate in Social Work from Loyola College, Chennai, he did his Ph.D. from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He is an accomplished Research Guide in Social Work in M.G. University, Kottayam, Christ University, Bangalore and Assam Don Bosco University, Assam. He is the author/co-author of ten National and four International publications. He is also an international visiting scholar at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, USA.
As head of two prestigious institutions, he has successfully guided them to reach the highest accreditation levels. NAAC has accredited RCSS at A grade with an aggregate score of 3.75/4 which places it among the top institutions of the country. The management programmes under Rajagiri have received the prestigious international ACBSP accreditation and are now on route to attaining AACSB and E-PAS, considered among the highest level global accreditations. His tireless efforts have resulted in a number of international tie-ups with top universities across US, Europe, Australia and Asia.
With his wide experience in teaching and administration, he sets very high standards in the institutions he heads, and supports the progress of faculty members and students through regular training programs and academic inputs. His efforts resulted in RCSS being among the first colleges to be given autonomy by the Government.
His achievements are not confined to academic development alone. He was instrumental in developing Rajagiri Vidyapeetom Campus at Kakkanad including the Christu Jayanthi Public School and Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology. Right from obtaining the necessary governmental permissions to the actual development of the infrastructure for two management institutions, he has carved out a success story in a very limited time period. This state-of the art campus secured the Green Campus award from Govt of Kerala. Subsequently, he was instrumental in coordinating and successfully completing the massive expansion plan at RCSS Kalamassery, in order to accommodate the requirement for the number of graduate degree courses that MG University allotted to the college.
He is a member of various prestigious academic bodies such as NAAC Accreditation Council, UGC Inspection Team for Accreditation of Colleges, and University Inspection Team for New Courses. He is a member of the Indian Society of Professional Social Workers, the Kerala Management Association, the Red Cross Society and the Ethics Committee of Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva. His networking and social skills has given him a wide reach in academic and corporate circles.
An eloquent speaker and trainer, he has travelled widely in the USA, the UK, Canada, Singapore, Thailand, China, Oman, Srilanka, Kenya, the Maldives offering various training programmes for corporate heads in multinational companies worldwide. His areas of interest are mentoring, employee resourcing and counselling. He is a member of the expert panel for employee selection in many companies and educational institutions.
Added to this, he is also a keen landscape artist and has won the ‘Best Institutional Garden Award’ for 4 consecutive years for the Hill Campus at Kakkanad. With his rich experience, expertise and vision, he has boldly taken Rajagiri forward on its relentless search for excellence.
Dr. Binoy Joseph has extensive expertise in the areas of Employee Resourcing, Performance Management, Reward Management and HR Accounting and Auditing and his core research interest lies in HRM Innovations. He has had professional experience in the hospitality industry. He has been a Visiting International Scholar at Western Michigan University, USA, and was also engaged in research on Employee Stock Option Plan and Corporate Performance. He has received his doctoral degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology in the topic "Innovative Human Resource Practices and HR Outcomes in Software Firms. He has received the prestigious AUDI Professorship 2013 Fellowship. He made a presentation in Audi Company in Ingolstadt Germany on 'People Management Challenges for German Managers in India'. He also took a course ' International Human Resource Management' for the students in Catholic University, Ingolstadt, Germany.
