Gokul M. Nair is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), with over thirteen years of experience across academia, language education, career development, and mental health practice. He is currently a Doctoral Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, and holds postgraduate qualifications in English Language and Literature and Clinical Psychology.
His academic and professional work spans English language and literature education, film and theatre, career counselling and skills development, and clinical psychology. He has worked extensively with young adults across India in career guidance and skills training, having conducted over 400 sessions reaching more than 8,000 students. He is a trained Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Certified POSH Trainer.
His research interests include perinatal mental health, postpartum depression, sexual assault and trauma studies, graphic narratives and visual culture, gender and identity, and cultural studies. He has published peer-reviewed research in SAGE journals including the Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine and Families in Society: The Journal of Contemporary Social Services, as well as in other indexed journals. He is an active researcher in the area of maternal and paternal mental health in India
