Dr. Santhosh J is an accomplished academic and sports administrator with over three decades of experience in physical education, coaching, and sports management. He joined Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery, on 8 September 2025 as Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education.
At Rajagiri, he has been instrumental in strengthening the institution’s sports culture and organizing major university-level and intercollegiate events. He served as Convener for the MG University Women’s Shuttle Badminton Championship and the MG University Women’s Basketball Championship held at the college. He also organized the 1st South Indian Football Championship and the 10th Rajagiri Basketball League Tournament. Under his leadership, the Annual Sports Day was successfully conducted on 10 February 2026, along with a wide range of intramural sports events including football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, throw ball, and badminton. He further promoted campus engagement by organizing a staff–student friendly cricket match on 13 December 2025 and coordinated minor games and recreational activities on 1 November in connection with Kerala Piravi.
Prior to this, Dr. Santhosh served as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education at Nirmala College (Autonomous), Muvattupuzha, from 2001 to 2025. During this tenure, he demonstrated exceptional leadership that significantly enhanced the college’s sporting achievements. The college football team, under his guidance, secured Nine MG University championships between 2006 and 2025. He also played a key role in organizing the All India Inter-University Football Championship (2013–14) hosted by MG University.
Dr. Santhosh began his career as Physical Director at SBOA Senior Secondary Public School, Ernakulam (1994–2000), where he introduced structured physical education programs focusing on skill development, discipline, and holistic fitness.
