Dr. Rajiv has graduated with a bachelor's in biochemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Cuddalore; a master's in biochemistry from Bharathidasan University; and a doctorate in biochemistry from Loyola College, affiliated with the University of Madras in 2015, Chennai, India. Dr. Rajiv completed postdoctoral research training in the fields of bioorganic medicinal chemistry, food science, and clinical medicine at the Federal University of Sergipe, Brazil, from 2015 to 2022. Dr. Rajiv has bagged a national Indian fellowship and research grants from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) during the period of 2012-2015. Dr. Rajiv has received various International Postdoctoral fellowships under the "Science Across the Border" program from CNPq/CAPES-Brazil for the years 2016-2021. He has a role as a visiting scientist at the Institute of Urban Agriculture (IUA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Chengdu, China, as well as at Chengdu National Agricultural Science and Technology, Chengdu, China, during 2019-2021. Stanford University, USA, listed Dr. Rajiv as one of the world's top 2% cited scientists in 2022. He has authored 70 articles and 5 book chapters, achieving a cumulative impact factor of around 290. Currently, as per Elsevier-Scopus, the citations of articles are 1696, with an H-index of 21. Dr. Rajiv also holds a visiting professor position at Universidade Federal de Sergipe, SE, Brazil, right from January 2025. He has also been recognized as a highly cited researcher under the Food Science/Engineering and Technology category from the AD Scientific Index 2025.
