The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS is available in two test versions: i) Academic - for people applying for higher education or professional registration, and ii) General Training for those migrating to Australia, Canada and the UK, or applying for secondary education, training programs and work experience in an English-speaking environment. As a future international student, one will need to demonstrate that one is qualified and can successfully complete a degree program taught in English. One will therefore need higher IELTS scores to enroll in advanced degree programmes such as the Masters or PhDs. With the IELTS add-on program students will get an objective assessment of their English language abilities. Students will gain a better knowledge of the English that they need and will be motivated to study harder because they’ll have a clear goal.
