Saju. M.D, Ph.D. is the Principal and Professor, at the Department of Social Work of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous), Cochin, Kerala, and an approved research guide in social work under Mahatma Gandhi University. He is the Director of the International Centre for consortium research in social care (ICRS), which focuses on psychosocial intervention and epidemiological research in various health domains to improve outcomes for patients. He holds honorary fellow positions at the University of Melbourne, Australia, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland since 2022 and 2023, respectively. He has extensive experience in running funded projects in principal investigator and co-investigator roles. He was the Principal Investigator (PI) of the UKIERI partnership project in collaboration with York University, UK, funded by the British Council and University Grants Commission (UGC), Co-PI of IMPRESS- ICSSR Project, funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India, on public health. His other roles include President of Rajagiri Chapter National Association of Palliative Care for Ayush & Integrative Medicine, Consultant – Sea Wise - Workplace Mental Health Initiative, Cochin Shipyard, Kerala, India, and Director, LIFE - Happiness and Wellbeing Centre, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. He was also the head of the project team that won the State e-Governance Special Jury Award for project Resiliency Engagement and Care in Health (REaCH) under Innovations in COVID Pandemic Management issued by the Government of Kerala in 2022. He has more than 16 years of teaching and is an active researcher with more than 20 publications in high-impact journals. His research interests include Public Health and Mental Health, Disability, Suicide, and Dementia.
